We all have a responsibility in shaping the future of our industry. People with their commitment and passion for the Highland and Islands as well as for the industry are the critical success factors. In establishing this award we are looking to recognise these qualities in an individual who has dedicated their time and energy to making a difference to Highland tourism. Nominees in this category should be 31 years or over on 5th October 2012. They should have demonstrated commitment in their chosen field and in their business community. They should have a track record of inspiring and leading others to create a more sustainable tourism industry.

The Young Ambassador of the Year and the Ambassador of the Year award winners are the only two winners that will not be put forward to the Scottish Thistle Awards in 2012.
